Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Physician to join a community-focused medical practice in California City, CA. Reporting to the Medical Director, you will provide comprehensive primary and preventive care to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate is board-certified (or board-eligible), holds an active California medical license, and has at least 3 years of clinical experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Clinical Services:
    • Perform comprehensive primary care evaluations, including history taking, physical exams, and diagnostic workups.
    • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, following evidence-based guidelines.
    • Develop personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and monitor patient progress.
  • Preventive Medicine & Health Maintenance:
    • Provide age-appropriate preventive screenings, immunizations, and wellness counseling.
    • Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.
  • Coordination of Care:
    • Collaborate with specialists, ancillary staff, and community resources to ensure seamless care continuity.
    • Refer patients to in-network specialists when needed and manage follow-up.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Documentation:
    • Accurately document all patient encounters, orders, and treatment plans in the EMR system.
    • Review lab results, imaging studies, and consult notes; adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Quality Improvement & Compliance:
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, chart audits, and peer review processes.
    • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and reporting requirements.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Represent the practice at local health fairs, educational events, and community outreach programs.
    • Build rapport with patients and families, fostering trust and continuity of care.

Qualifications

  • Education & Licensure:
    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
    • Active, unrestricted California medical license (MD or DO).
    • Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting.
    • Proven ability to manage a broad range of medical conditions and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
  • Clinical Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong diagnostic acumen, familiarity with preventive care guidelines, and chronic disease management.
    • Proficient in EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) with excellent documentation skills.
  • Communication & Interpersonal:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex medical information clearly.
    • Culturally sensitive and able to build rapport with patients of all ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic levels.
  • Professionalism & Ethics:
    • High degree of integrity, compassion, and ethical decision-making.
    • Commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience practicing in a community or rural healthcare setting.
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support).
  • Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and remote patient monitoring tools.
  • Spanish language proficiency or experience serving diverse, multilingual communities.
