Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and ensure the highest standard of patient care. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with strong clinical expertise, exceptional management skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. This role involves overseeing nursing operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and implementing best practices to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patient care standards, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Collaborate with physicians, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care services.
  • Oversee budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement improvement plans when necessary.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of patient care activities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new medical technologies, and best practices in nursing care.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Licensure: Active RN license in [State] and in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in nursing leadership, preferably in a healthcare facility, hospital, or long-term care setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement policies that enhance patient care and staff performance.
  • Prior Inpatient Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Health leadership experience.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
