Overview:

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Community Physicians Group to lead the operational and strategic direction of a network of community-based physicians. This role will be responsible for overseeing clinic operations, provider performance, financial outcomes, and patient satisfaction, ensuring alignment with the broader goals of the healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for a multi-specialty community physician group, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care.
  • Direct and manage day-to-day operations of multiple outpatient clinics, including staffing, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Foster strong relationships with physicians and other providers to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee performance metrics including patient access, quality outcomes, provider productivity, and financial performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all clinics to enhance operational efficiency and patient experience.
  • Lead recruitment, retention, and development efforts for clinical and administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with finance, IT, compliance, marketing, and other departments to support group operations.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing physician group operations, improving clinical performance, and optimizing financial results.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, value-based care models, and provider compensation structures.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • In lieu of a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree with 10 years of progressive practice management experience to include: financial, human resource and operational management, and a sound understanding of ambulatory care.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive physician practice management or related health care management.
  • Ability to write a business plan, perform a SWOT analysis, and understand the financial statements and develop proforma’s.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in integrating practices into a larger health system or managing large-scale physician networks.
  • Knowledge of EHR systems and practice management platforms (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
  • Background in strategic growth initiatives, mergers, or acquisitions within the ambulatory care space.
