Job Overview

We are hiring a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in cutting tools, CNC operations, and process improvement in a manufacturing setting. This role is ideal for an engineer with expertise in tool life management, metalworking, lean principles, and machining efficiency. You will work directly with top-tier manufacturers to improve output, reduce downtime, and implement optimized tooling strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recommend appropriate cutting tools based on applications and machining parameters

  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend corrective actions to improve tool performance and life

  • Analyze tooling data and propose design improvements to enhance efficiency and quality

  • Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to support tooling improvements and resolutions

  • Track tooling performance and generate reports on tool efficiency across departments

  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

  • Provide technical support to Process and Manufacturing Engineering teams

  • Participate in production tooling meetings and contribute to team strategies


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent technical training) in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in metalworking, tooling, and CNC machining in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Strong understanding of cutting tools: indexable tools, solid carbide tools, etc.

  • Knowledge of materials, surface finishes, and surface treatments

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

  • Experience with tool life management, machine uptime, and lean manufacturing principles


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with large manufacturers

  • Strong vendor coordination and tooling supplier communication

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or lean process improvements


Schedule

  • Full-time, Day Shift

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8-hour or 10-hour shifts
